The Challenge

The original challenge was to create an updated logo for Vertical Adventures, a brand that has existed for 25 years. The owners were building a new, modern gym and wanted a logo that reflected the exciting new opportunity. The project grew in scope with the additional build of two new gyms in different parts of Ohio and expanding into Pennsylvania and with different client focus; as well as the creation of a parent company.

My Solution … a brand with room to grow

Various logo designs were submitted, ranging from a fresh, unique approach to an evolutionary design that built off of the existing logo with a cleaner, more modern execution. When weighing the design options, the client decided to go with the evolutionary approach to reinforce its messaging of commitment to the community while being able to innovate and adapt to the changing requirements of the sport.

A parent company, 5.Life, was later established to oversee the development of additional gyms. The brand identity needed to stand on its own but create an umbrella that will seamlessly incorporate existing brands and provide a launch platform for new gyms such as Climb Nittany.

What the client has to say

“Working with Jennie is a great experience. From the beginning of the process she treated us as a valued customer. She had insightful questions and listened to our needs to produce a proposal. She submitted a well-defined estimate, complete with a detailed scope of her services and pricing. She educated us on her process, which aligned with our expectations.  Through the initial concept phase, Jennie’s approach captured our vision, brand, and its unique aspects. In the design phase, she received criticism and feedback constructively and translated it into a great finished product. The deliverables were in a format that our team can easily use, regardless of technical design skills. We’ve done several projects with her and would gladly recommend.”
